The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

This week we celebrate the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.  The Eucharist gives us life by uniting us with Christ, with Christ’s Body, the Church, and with all whom we are called to serve by receiving Eucharist.  In the past 10 weeks I have heard from many of you how much you missed receiving Eucharist.  We could watch Mass on TV and yet there was someone missing – the act of receiving the Body and Blood of Christ left us empty and craving.  Just hungering for Eucharist is not enough – we receive Eucharist and then we are called to “be” Eucharist to others in our families, workplaces, towns, and throughout our days.  We are the experience of Jesus to others with or without proclaiming that is the reason we behave the way that we do. Our kindness, generosity, patience, etc. is a result of “being” Eucharist to others.  Jesus’ words, “… whoever eats this bread will live forever” allow us to trust that, through our lives, we are sharing in a mystery that is beyond all other – WE are Christ to one another, we are nourished, and go forth – WE believe!   Take time daily to pray…
