The 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time

This week we celebrate the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Readings today enforce living the Ten Commandments in order to live with the Spirit of God within ourselves.  Following the Law of God can bring us peace and allow us to share that peace with others.  Jesus shares with us that anger can be insidious – it can torment us to the point that sometimes murder is the end result.  Allowing anger to ferment within us is dangerous. We cannot achieve peace if we are constantly feeling anger toward others or remembering an incident that may have happened years ago. Our mental health is damaged if our thoughts are always angry.  How can we achieve peace?  We must look within ourselves, forgive, and go onward – it is not easy, but it is necessary if we are to follow Jesus…  Take time…
