The 2nd Sunday of Lent

March 17, 2019

This week we celebrate the Second Sunday of Lent.  The Readings allow us to reflect on how we can grow with God by standing firm in our beliefs regardless of the events that occur in our lives.  We must have hope & believe in God throughout the joys & sorrows we experience.

The Gospel today shares the Transfiguration.  Peter, John and James are astounded by what they have experienced but they do not understand that it prefigures Jesus’ death and Resurrection.  “They fell silent and did not, at that time, tell anyone what they had seen.”

Let us take time this week to put ourselves in the place of the Apostles.  What would be our reactions?  Would it be so amazing that we would be silent? Would we share it with others?  Take time…

Remember to mark your calendars for the Lenten Mission – is it time to reflect & allow ourselves to grow spiritually by setting aside time to attend the Mission???
